I heard this argument long  before the election. Some people thought that having a dark-skinned president will give them an excuse to ignore the ongoing problems of people, of whatever color, who are treated poorly.

I  understand that. Many people would like a respite from hearing about the pains of society,  but no more so than the people who have those pains.</description>

Those who read articles like that are left thinking about something they hadn&#039;t considered usually close the article and ponder what they had just read. 

Kimberly is right, she has a lot of work to do. Fortunately for her (and us), there will be those of us who will seek out her work -- and some of us, like me, are white.</description>
